KARTHIK MUTHURAMAN

The famous Tamil cinema actor commonly known as the Karthik's full name is Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman, he was born on 13th September, 1960. Karthik is also a Tamil film actor and a politician. He is also the son of veteran actor R.Muthuraman, he was first introduced to Kollywood by the famous director Bharathiraja in the movie Alaigal Oivathillai.

He appeared in the leading roles in many movies. He has won nearly four Filmfare Awards for Best Actor - for Tamil and one Filmfare Award for Best Actor in the Kollywood industry. He is also known for his awards of Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Award. He plays the role of a comedian as well as a hero in some films. He has given many successful commercially hit movies.

Karthik entered into the Tamil cinema industry first and he was first introduced by the famous Kollywood director Bharathiraja in his blockbuster movie Alaigal Oivathillai.

Here he played the leading role with the actress Radha. And for that movie he received the Best New Face Award from the Tamil Nadu Government in the year 1980.

After that movie he cooperated with leading film directors of Kollywood industry like Maniratnam, Balachandar, Bharathiraja, R.Sundarrajan, R.V.Udayakumar, Priyadarshan, Fazil, Vikraman, Agathiyan, Sundar.C, KS.Ravikumar and P.Vasu.

In the year 1987 he won the Filmfare Awards -South and for the Best Actor category -Telugu for the movie Abhinandana

In the year 1988 he won the Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category- Tamil for the movie Agni Natchathiram

Again in the year 1989 he got the Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category -Tamil for the movie Varusham Padhinaaru

In 1990 also Karthik Muthuraman won the Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category -tamil for the film Kizhakku Vasal

Then in the year 1993 he got Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category- Tamil for the movie Ponnumani.

And as also won the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for 1981 as the Best Male Debut Award for the Tamil box-office hit movie Alaigal Oivathillai

In the year 1988 he won the Special Prize for Best Actor for Agni Natchathiram movie.And also in the year 1990 he got Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor for the movie Kizhakku Vasal.

In the late 1998 he got Special Prize for Best Actor for the movie Pooveli and then for Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen. Then he won Cinema Express Awards in 1998 and also got the Cinema Express Award for Best Actor Tamil for the movie Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen.

Karthik is one among the famous celebrities in the Tamil cinema industry and he has won many awards for his acting. His role in politics is also energetic and he gives a new way to the upcoming generations through his speech.

Karthik was first introduced in the film Alaigal Oivathillai which was directed by Bharathiraja. For his first movie itself he received the Best New Face Award from the Tamil Nadu Government in the year 1980. And that movie gave him a new stage to show his acting skills and it became a great turning point in his life. Then he collaborated with leading film directors like Maniratnam, Balachandar, Bharathiraja, R.Sundarrajan, R.V.Udayakumar, Priyadarshan, Fazil, Vikraman, Agathiyan, Sundar.C, KS.Ravikumar and P.Vasu and he gave them blockbusters and box-office hit movies . Karthik is popular among the people for his sense of humor in his acting and did several small comedy scenes in most of his films. His cameo in the box-office hit movie Mouna Ragam got very good results among the audience. In the later years, he formed a partnership with the famous actor of Tamil cinema industry Goundamani in many comedy films. Many movies made by actor Karthik with the actress Rambha Menon had received good hits in the year 1990's and it reached the audience. In the year 2009, Karthik came again into the cinema industry and he signed on to play a supporting role in one of the famous directors of Tamil cinema industry namely Mani Ratnam and gave his acting skills for his movie Raavanan, in that movie he acted with actors like Vikram, Prithviraj of the young generation.

Then he did the movie Maanja Velu in the year 2011, in which he got a role of a police officer and here he acted with actor Arun Vijay, but the movie was commercial failure. He received critical acclaim for his character of Gnanapragasam in the Mani Rattanam movie Raavanan featuring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Prithviraj. He also did a role in the movie Pulivesham and it was directed by the director P.Vasu but the movie seemed to be unnoticed by the people and it became an utter flop.

Karthik who was highly interested in politics and entered into the ocean of politics in the year 2006 through the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. Then he joined in the party called All India Forward Block, and there he was appointed to the position of Secretary of the Tamil Nadu state unit of the party. He led the party and his electoral campaign was held on 24 th September in the year of 2006. Then he later started his own party called Ahila India Naadalum Makkal Katchi in the year 2009 before which the Lok Sabha Elections was to be held. He contested in the elections in the district of Virudhunagar constituency. And he never campaigned and was elected in the election.

The karthiks ahila india naadalum makkal party tried alliance with the ruling party AIADMK for the year 2011 in which the Assembly elections but the AIADMK party denied tickets for his party. But Karthik without losing his hope announced that his party will contest alone in 25 to 40 seats because of the AIADMK party denying the seats. Karthik was fasting with his party in Madurai demanding Madurai Airport which is usually called as Pasumpon Thevar Airport. His party got the sizeable Thevar votes in southern district of Tamil Nadu which is believed to be the AIADMK vote bank.

Karthik married actress Ragini who acted with him in the film Solai Kuyil and they have got two sons. His elder son name is Gautham who has starred in a Tamil movie Kadal by maniratanam. And younger sons is Gyain.
