ALOO MUTTER SABZI (WITHOUT ONIONS) Vegetarian-Dish

The Aloo Matar is a popular North Indian dish. In Hindi, which is a common language of North India, potato is known as Aloo and pea is called Matar. Hence, this is known as Aloo Matar Sabji or Potato peas mix vegetable. Aloo Matar is an everyday food during the season of pea.



Ingredients

Boiled potatoes
: 4
Boiled peas
: 1/2 cup
Tomato puree
: 4 tbsp
Cumin seeds
: 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds powder
: 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds powder
: 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder
: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder
: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder
: 1/2 tsp
Salt
: To taste
Oil
: 2 tsp
Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Method

  • Cut the potatoes in cubes. In a microwave safe bowl, add the oil and cumin seeds and micro high for 15 seconds.
  • Add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin seeds powder, coriander seeds powder, salt, little water and mix well. Micro high for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the potatoes and peas and micro high for 2 more minutes.
  • If there is less gravy, add little water and micro high for another minute. If the gravy is watery, make a thick paste of bengalgram flour and little water and mix it with the sabzi. Micro high for one minute.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
