Dreams have intrigued mankind since the dawn of time and there have always been people around to interpret them.The Egyptians had Joseph, the Greeks had Plato and every Roman legion had its soothsayer to make sense of those nocturnal visions that crept uninvited into the minds of slumbering men.As well as a dream interpreters they also had in those days special oracles and shrines where individuals could go to consult priests who dreamed for them or they could incubate or encourage their own dreams in order to receive that divine guidance. 

Dreams are as much a part of our lives today as everything else we experience but unfortunately their importance and role has been sadly neglected. Not only can they help us to understand others and ourselves, they show us glimpses of the future, solve our problems and help us to listen to our inner self. At the very least they are excellent topics of conversation, for whose interest is not roused when somebody says, ‘I had a very funny dream last night’.
