Goa, the fine and fertile island on the western coast of India lies 320 kms south of Bombay. The Daman enclave is about 160 kms north of Bombay, between Gujarat on the east and the Gulf of Cambay on the west.

The island of Diu, off the Gujarat coast is connected with the mainland by a bridge near the village Tad. Goa was once the Portuguese's possession. The orthodox Roman Catholics still dominate this land, which is full of beaches and forts and temples.
