'Stage Not Visible, Toilets…': Disappointed Diljit Dosanjh Fan Recounts Dil-Luminati Delhi Concert
A Diljit Dosanjh fan, who attended the Punjabi singer's first show in New Delhi, expressed disappointment over the poor management at the venue.
Diljit Dosanjh kicked off the India leg of his Dil-Luminati tour with a sold-out concert in New Delhi’s JLN Stadium on Saturday, October 26. The show marked the beginning of a ten-city tour across the country, set to conclude in December. While many fans enjoyed the concert, some were left feeling disappointed, with one attendee calling it a “total waste”.
One of the concertgoers took to LinkedIn to share their experience. They divided it into two parts – the “good part” and “what went wrong”. They praised the smooth entry to the venue and efficient traffic management but highlighted issues at the food and drinks stalls. “At the beginning of the show, half of the things were out of stock… The food stalls closed 30 minutes before the show ended… Drinking water was not available properly,” the concertgoer said, questioning, “Why sell if you don’t have it?”
They also said, “No separate queue for girls. How do you expect them to get anything in that mess?”
Diljit Dosanjh fan, who bought a Gold class ticket, further expressed frustration over the poor visibility of the stage, saying they had to rely on screens to watch the performance. They added, “People go to live concerts to see the performance live not on screens.”
They also commented on the sound quality: “I have a better music system at home than you had for the stadium.”
The attendee also described the conditions of the toilets as “horrible”, further dampening the overall experience.
“Diljit was amazing, but his concert was not”
Siddharth said, “Even after paying so much, we were left waiting endlessly. The gates didn’t open till 5:30 pm, and then the concert didn’t start until 8 pm.”
He also voiced concerns about the washrooms, adding that they were not properly lit up, were unhygienic and smelled terrible. “Not at all what you’d expect after paying the premium.”
He also said that there was chaos at the food and drinks stall. “First, we had to stand in line just to buy a card. Then, another line to get an order slip at the POS, and finally, yet another line to get the drink. To top it off, drinks were served in glasses instead of bottles or cans, causing even more delays.”
“Beverages Cut-off. After a while, a fight broke out between the management and the crowd, leading to the beverage counters being shut down. There were no drinks or even water available after 9 pm,” he added.
Siddharth also said that the card at the concert was prepaid. “If you added extra money to your card for food and drinks, there was no way to get a refund. Even worse, after the event ended, they only accepted cash and wouldn’t take the card. Felt like a total rip-off.”
“To top it off, even in the Gold Pit, we could barely see him. Seems like only Fan Pit had a good view,” he further expressed.
“Diljit was at his usual best but the production and management was third class. Alcohol, water was over within 1 hour of concert start, pine lab machines were down, poor toilets as expected,” wrote another concertgoer Ayush Aggarwal on X.
