CNG Car Owners To Bear Increased Running Cost, Now Priced At Rs 80.09 Per KG
CNG car owners in Delhi-NCR will now have to spend more on their daily commute as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices have gone up once again.
The latest hike has pushed the price of CNG in Delhi to Rs 80.09 per kg, increasing the overall running cost of CNG cars, autos, and cab services across the region.
This is the second CNG price hike in just two days. The increase comes at a time when global energy markets are facing pressure due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Along with rising input gas prices, the sharp appreciation of the US Dollar has also added pressure on fuel costs.Following the revision, CNG now costs Rs 80.09 per kg in Delhi, while buyers in Noida and Ghaziabad will have to pay Rs 88.70 per kg.
In Gurugram, the price has reached Rs 85.12 per kg. Other cities have also witnessed revised CNG rates, including Rs 88.58 per kg in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli; Rs 91.42 per kg in Kanpur; Rs 89.44 per kg in Ajmer; Rs 86.42 per kg in Banda; and Rs 89.70 per kg in Hapur.
According to Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the latest CNG price hike has been introduced to partly balance the increasing cost of natural gas procurement and currency fluctuations. However, the biggest impact of the hike is expected to be felt by daily commuters and CNG car owners, as the running cost of CNG vehicles will now increase further.
