Man Calls ChatGPT His 'Best Coworker' In Viral Post, Internet Is Divided
Ever since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, a whole new world has opened up about AI’s large language models and its capabilities of mastering office tasks like editing, making reports, summarising large data, etc. There is no doubt that more and more businesses are adopting ChatGPT or its advanced model ChatGPT Plus to simplify tasks. Despite its popularity, many see ChatGPT and other AI chatbots as just another work tool. However, recently a Reddit user shared that he has started seeing ChatGPT as his “only good coworkerâ€. In a now-viral post, the Reddit user wrote, “I have actually come to enjoy coming into work now and creating custom GPTs to do the job of about 8 people. I drive to work now thinking about how much fun I will have with GPT and the quality of work I will be able to deliver.â€
This post has gathered over 2,000 upvotes. In the comments, many people agreed with the Reddit user and shared how ChatGPT or other AI tools have helped them complete their tasks instead of dealing with uncooperative co-workers. Another set of people pointed out that technology can not replace human interaction, even if it’s just between colleagues. A Reddit user wrote, “Amen! My 3 favorite coworkers are Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. They are the most consistent, efficient and interesting coworkers by a mile.â€
Another person wrote, “Absolutely love this!!! Edit: I have a coworker who does translation and just found out he’s been using Google translate all along ( I can check it over for errors but im not going to translate it). So now I use ChatGPT and get a much better translation. Feels great because Nate the translator is very irritating to deal with.â€
Expressing a different opinion, a Reddit user wrote, “I feel really sorry for people who have to work like this. ChatGPT is great but it can’t replace good coworkers. You deserve a better team.â€
Someone expressed the limitations of ChatGPT and wrote, “I’m a senior web dev and have been coding for 20 years now (I’m old, lol). I’ve used Chat GPT for random stuff and tried out stuff embedded in my IDE. But how are you saving time telling it what to do like a JR programmer? It seems like I spent more time telling it what to do and constantly correcting it when I could’ve used that time coding myself. Unless I’m using it wrong or missing the point.â€
