Location :The Asvakranta temple is located in north of Guwahati in Assam. The temple is one of the important and the greatest Vishnu shrines of Assam, the very famous Asvakranta temple is located on a rocky stratum touching the waterfront of the Brahmaputra.
Significance of the Temple
Two rows of 'nagakanyas' or female serpent figures are seen praying to the lord with their hands folded. The shrine is adorned with artistic carvings.

The Footprints of Lord Krishna is being said to be found at the rocky outcrop at the eastern side bordering the river. It allegedly contains a footprint, which is supposed to be that of Krishna. The devotees visit this place to perform 'Shraddha' ceremonies of the departed souls regularly in the temple.
AarparuatThe Aarparuat or the flat-topped Screen-Hill is very much a small Island, only of 100 metres off the bank of Brahmaputra River. Apart from its natural beauty, there is an island which is the abode of thousands of white cranes, which offer added attraction to the visitors.
