Hema Malini

Hema Malini, the yesteryear Bollywood actress and present year politician was born to a Tamil Chakravarty family. She did have some connection with the film industry as her dad is V.S.R. Chakravarthy and her mom Jaya, was a film producer.

So it was pretty easy for Hema to enter the film industry. But she also made a mark of herself in the Indian Bollywood cinema and was often called as "The Dream Girl". Hema Malini was a well learned and well established classical dancer. After reigning Bollywood with the name of DREAM GIRL by appearing in nearly one hundred and fifty films she also took over play singing, production and direction of films and serials.

She has given phenomenal performances in both commercial as well as cinema parellely. She has got two brothers. She is now married to Dharmendra and has got two daughters who are also very renowned classical dancers just like their mom. One of the daughters, Esha Deol is also a well known face in the Indian Bollywood cinema as an actress.

Hema Malini was a well trained classical dancer. She first made her film debut as a dancer in a Telugu film Pandava Vanavasam in the year 1961. Then she was rejected by the Tamil director Sridhar. He felt that Hema Malini lacked the essence of a film star. But she proved him all wrong with her strong Bollywood debut after four years of gap in the year 1969 in Sapnon Ka Saudagar in which she was paired opposite the legendary veteran actor Raj Kapoor. The film was praised as well for her performance. She then did Johny Mera Naam in which she was paried with veteran actor Dev Anand. The performance of Hema Malini in the film was applauded and it helped her to prove herself as a star. She then did a lot of films like Waris, Kasauti, Dharmatma, Pratigya, Sholay, Mehbooba, Maa, Charas which came to a total of nearly 150 films. All of these films were either a critically hit film or a commercially hit film. This helped Hema Malini to reign the world of Indian Bollywood cinema as Dream girl for a pretty long time. Apart from acting she was also a trained classical dancer. She has also made her mark as a producer, playback singer and a director. Tell Me O Kkhuda which released in the year 2011 and Dil Aashna Hai which was released in the year 1992 were the films which were directed by this beautiful actress. She was also the director for both these films. Kinara, Dream , GirlHaath Ki Safai are the songs which helped Hema Mailini to make her mark as a playback singer. She then took the cap of a politician and joined Bharathiya janata party (BJP) and was a regular active member of the party. She always attended all the meeting and gatherings. Hema Malini got marriage proposals from veteran actors Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra but she was interested in Dharmendra with whom she was paired in quite a few films. Both were very keen on marrying each other but the hindu rule of one man cannot marry a second wife if the first wife is still alive. Even though according to the Indian law second marriage is a crime when first wife is alive. Dharmendra's first wife Prakash Kaur with whom he has a son, was not ready to give divorce and hence the divorce did not happen. So both Hema Malini and Dharmendra converted their religion into islam and married with all the muslim rituals. They even changed their names to Aisha Bi R. Chakravarty and Dilawar Khan Kewal Krishn respectively. They got married to each other with all the Islamic rituals. She then gave birth to a beautiful baby after 3 years and became a mother of such a lovely daughter.She named her first daughter Esha who is now called Esha Deol as she has married a guy from the Deol family. Then she gave birth to the second cute baby and named her Ahana. Esha Deol is now a renowned actress who has established herself as a Bollywood actress.
