ASIAN BROCCOLI Vegetarian-Dish

Broccoli is a powerhouse of nutrition. The word broccoli is derived from the Latin word brachium. Broccolo is its Italian name and means - cabbage sprout. It is a member of the cauliflower family and resembles a cauliflower - a cauliflower is creamy white in color and broccoli is a bright green or a purple-green.



Ingredients

Broccoli, trimmed aggressively
: 1 pound
Sesame oil
: 1 tsp
Minced garlic (from a jar)
: 1 tsp
Minced ginger (from a jar)
: 1 tsp
Soy sauce
: 1 tbsp
Rice wine vinegar
: 1 tbsp
Salt and pepper
: To taste

Asian Broccoli

Method

  • Add 1/2 inch water to a microwave safe dish with a cover. Add broccoli, cover and cook in the microwave for 5 minutes (or more, see notes above) or until broccoli is nearly cooked.
  • While broccoli cooks, assemble remaining ingredients.
  • Pour over the broccoli, cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
