LAUKI SABZI Vegetarian-Dish

This contains almost 95% water. It plays a vital role in Ayurveda treatment. It is used to treat urinary disorders. After cooking also, bottle guard is very light and soothing. As this gives fewer calories, it is good for diet conscious people. This is easily available vegetable all over India.



Ingredients

Oil
: 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds
: 3/4 tbsp
Green chillies
: To taste
Onion, sliced
: 1 large
Tomato
: 1 large
A pinch of turmeric
: To taste
Lauki, peeled and cubed
: 400 grams
Salt
: To taste
Sugar
: 1/2 -3/4 tsp

Method

  • Put the oil in a microwave safe dish and heat on Microwave at 100% Power (or MW 70% +200 Degree) for 2 minutes.
  • Drop in the cumin and green chillies. Continue to cook at the same level for 2 minutes. Add the onion. Microwave for 2 minutes.
  • Add the tomato and turmeric. Microwave at the same power level for 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the vegetable. Cover and cook at MW 100% for 5 minutes.
  • Stand 3-4 minutes before adding the sugar and salt. The vegetable will have slight bite to it. If you prefer it softer cooked, add 1 minute cooking time.
