LEMON RASAM Vegetarian-Dish

This lemon rasam is perfect for any weather and it is quite simple and easy to make..It is an ultimate comfort food and can be whipped up in minutes.


Red gram dal
: 4 tbsp
: To taste
Small Lime
: 1
Mustard seeds
: 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida- a pinch
: To taste
Turmeric powder
: 1/4 tsp
Few drops of oil
: To taste
Curry and coriander leaves
: To taste
Coriander seeds
: 1/2 tsp
: 1/2 tsp
Red chillies
: 2
Red gram dal
: 1 tsp
Cumin seeds
: 1/2 tsp

Lemon rasam


  • Roast the masala ingredients except cumin seeds. Grind it along with cumin seeds to a fine powder.
  • Cook the Red gram dal with sufficient water, turmeric and few drops of oil at micro high for 15-20 minutes. Check in between and add more water if required.
  • Add salt, asafoetida, masala powder, dal, curry leaves and micro high for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice to it and season with mustard.
