Jharkhand

This is one of the recently formed three states that include Chattisgarh and Uttranchal. It has been carved out of Bihar state. It comprises of 18 districts with Ranchi as the State capital. It has 40% of India's mineral resources. And it accounts for two thirds of Bihar states' revenue collections. It is a large industrial base and can be rightly called the industrial power -house of the East.

This land has swift flowing rivers, and placid lakes and flowery gardens. Temples, mosques and monasteries dot this state and make it sacred to all faiths.
