History

Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India shortly called as MMTC Ltd., is one among the two top recipients of foreign exchange for India and it is India's chief public sector exchange body. It not only handles the transfer of prime products such as coal, iron ore and manufactured agro and industrial products. Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation also imports significant commodities such as ferrous and nonferrous metals for production and agricultural fertilizers.

Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation's varied trade activities shields the Third Country Trade, the Joint Ventures and Link Deals and all the present forms of international exchange. The company has a huge international trading network, covering almost all the countries in the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania and America and it also includes an exclusively owned international subsidiary in MTPL, Singapore. It is one of the Miniratnas firms. Metals and Minerals Trading is the prime international exchange company of India and is the first public sector enterprise to be allowed the position of Five Star Export Houses by Government of India for lengthy standing involvement to exports business.

Global CSR Excellence

MMTC has 11 Regional offices at Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar in the east zone, at Mumbai, Goa and Ahmedabad in the west zone, at Delhi Regional Office (Jhandewalan) and Jaipur in the north zone and finally at Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Vizag in the south zone.'Most Caring Companies Award' was received for the Global CSR Excellence which was presented by the World CSR Congress that was held on 18th February in the year 2013.

Global HR Excellence

Got the recognition for being one of the 30 Most Talented HR Leaders in PSUs & HR Leadership Award was given to Director (Personnel) Shri Rajeev Jaideva for his Global HR Excellence which was presented by the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) that was held on 16th and 17th of February 2013. MoU Excellence Award Limited for the year 2009-10 was given by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India that was held on 31st January 2012.

MMTC Services CAPEXIL's award for Highest Export in Minerals and Ores Sector for the year 2010-11. It got this award for the 20th time in a row. MMTC Limited was awarded the DHL-CNBC-TV18 International trade award 2010-11 which was powered by ICRA. EEPC Gold Trophy for 'Star Performance in Product Groups' for the year 2009-10 and 'Export of Non Alloy Pig Iron' was given for being the top exporter at the 42nd EEPC India National Awards for Export Excellence that was held on 22nd December 2011.

EEPC 'Star Performer' Award for the year 2010-11 was given in the basic Iron & Steel category in Large Enterprise group at the 43rd EEPC India National Awards for Export Excellence that was held on 23rd March 2012. EEPC Silver Trophy was given for being the Top Exporter of the year 2010-11 in the Medium Enterprise Group category that was held on 28th September 2012. Dun & Bradstreet-Rolta Corporate Award for the year 2011 was given in Trading Sector by the Dun & Bradstreet & Rolta that was held on 2nd June 2012.

Event Management by the Public Relation Society:

Dun & Bradstreet PSU Award 2012 was given in the Trading Sector by Dun & Bradstreet that was held on 29th May 2012.PRSI National Award for the year 2010-11 was given for Festival of Gold, in the category of Event Management by the Public Relation Society of India that was held on 23rd December 2011.BT Star PSU Excellence Award for the year 2012 was given for the contribution towards CSR by Bureaucracy Today that was held on 25th May 2012.

Top Rankers Award

Rajbhasha Award was given for the third consecutive year in recognition of the commendable work done in the field of India's national language that was held on 3rd August 2012. Top Rankers Award for the year 2010-11 for its Organizational Excellence was given when it was held on 23rd December 2011. MMTC Limited was Ranked 17th in BT 500, a publication of Business Today magazine amongst "India's most valuable companies".

PRSI National Award

PRSI National Award for the year 2011-12 for Festival of Gold (Apr. 12), in Event Management Category was given by the Public Relation Society of India that was held on 29th September 2012.
