World Peace Day Poems

The International Day of Peace, sometimes unofficially known as World Peace Day, is observed annually on 21 September. It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access. The day was first celebrated in 1982, and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and peoples.

1.Peace
By Jimmy Woods

Peace my brother
Peace to the world
Peace to my boys and peace to the girls

Peace to my brother that made a livin out of a dollar
Peace to the sista who is tryna holla
Peace to the old man feeding the birds
Peace to the old lady rockin on the curve
Peace to all the rags to riches
Peace to all the leaders that helped African- Americans

Peace to the dead
Peace to the past
Peace to whoever

Peace to the brotha and sister with one parent
Peace to my motha and fatha because I made it
Peace to my heart
Peace to my love

Peace to my virgin buddies alone in the strug
Peace

2.Path of Peace
By Paul Mc Cann

Peace is an easy path to tread
Peace is where our fears are mislaid
Peace is beginning to restore
Peace for each man, woman and child
Peace for the troubled streets gone wild
Peace is for the old and the young
Peace in the end will overcome
Peace builds trust into a lifestyle
Peace is a friendly open hand
Peace is a place to understand
Peace in the end will overcome
Peace is for the old and the young
Peace is a legacy to leave
Peace is when we don't have to grieve
Peace is and end to all the hate
Peace is why we negotiate
Peace for all the victims of war

3.'No room for hate'
By David Gould

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feels
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that's been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.
