The Dab- Parbatia temple is Situated at distance of few Km from the Tezpur town of Assam. Tezpur is 180 km from Guwahati.

Da-Parbatia Temple in Tezpur Assam is the oldest and finest representation s of sculptural or iconoclastic art in Assam which is in the form of the ruins of the door-frame of the Da-parbatia temple. The carvings of Da-Parbatia temple here display the characteristic style of the early Gupta School of sculpture. The studded two legs of the door-frame have the carvings of the two Goddesses Ganga and Yamuna. Both of them which are standing at the bottom with garlands in their hands. The whole frame is elaborately very well decorated with beautiful ornamental foliage.

The doorjambs of Da Parbatia Temple here are in Tezpur are very much adorned with the forms of two Goddesses, Ganga and Yamuna, standing with elegance and poise along with the garlands in their hands. Besides this, the whole doorframe is also decorated with ornaments with beautiful and delicate foliage. Due to such exquisite architecture of the temple and its elegant carvings belonging to the 5th and 6th centuries AD, this particular place today is protected site under the auspices of the Archaeological Survey of India.

  1. Through airways the airport here at Tezpur is connected by rail and bus. Indian airlines NEPC airlines which is connected to Tezpur with Calcutta & Guwahati. The nearest airport is Saloni which is about 10 kms.

  2. Through Railways the nearest rail station is Rangapara. One can easily reach Da-Parbatia from here.

  3. Through Road Transport the city of Tezpur is 180 kms. From Guwahati, 82 kms. from Kaziranga, 60 kms. from Bhalukpung and 65 kms. from Orang Wildlife Sanctuary. One can easily reach Da-Parbatia from these places. Both Government and private buses and taxis ply from Guwahati.
