This included 11.3 GW of utility-scale PV, about 1.9 GW of rooftop solar, and nearly 700 MW of off-grid/distributed capacity.
Most of the large-scale solar capacity in 2022 was installed in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu.
Solar energy accounts for around 52% of the overall renewable energy mix, followed by wind energy at 35%, bio-power at 9%, and small hydro at 4%.
The top 4 state in the list are Rajasthan with 19.5 GW of capacity followed by Gujarat with 17.9 GW, Tamilnadu – 16.9 GW and Karnataka with 16.2 GW of installed solar capacity.
